Most people know relatively little about native bees considering how important they are to the pollination of native flowers and agricultural crops.  To save the native bees we must first get to know them.  These flashcards are a great place to start!

This deck features 42 of the most commonly encountered native bees species in the Western United States.  You’ll see them in your garden, your neighborhood, and various ecosystems.

The purpose of this deck is to assist in the understanding and appreciation of these wonderful creatures.  You’ll learn scientific and common names, taxonomy, habitat information, features that will help you learn to ID, and more all in one place. These flashcards provide easy access to information useful whether you are just starting or have years of knowledge.

Nearly all native bee research currently involves lethal sampling of specimens in order to verify species ID later.  For my work, no bees are harmed or taken out of their environment.  Each card features a living representative of their species.

This deck includes 101 cards which are 3 in x 5 in (76.2 mm x 127 mm) printed on glossy anti-scratch 350 GSM card stock.  The deck comes in a magnetic book box with matte linen finish.
